Get found when people nearby start searching.

Local SEO (search engine optimization) means showing up when people nearby search Google or Maps for what you sell. People tend to pick from the first few businesses they see. For local businesses, we work on what shapes that short list: your Google Business Profile (your listing on Maps), your listings across the web, your reviews and your website.

Why local search decides who gets the call

When someone searches for an emergency plumber or a bakery near them, Google usually shows a map with a few businesses above the regular results. That box is where many local decisions get made. People compare star ratings, check whether you’re open, and tap to call or get directions, often without visiting a single website.

Local SEO (search engine optimization aimed at nearby customers) is the work of earning a place in that box and in the results below it. Google’s own help pages say local results are based mainly on three things: relevance, or how well your profile matches the search; distance from the searcher; and prominence, or how well known and well reviewed you are. You can’t move closer to every customer, but you can make relevance and prominence as strong as they can be.

It matters even when nobody is comparing. A wrong phone number on an old directory or holiday hours that never got updated costs you customers, and you’d rarely find out it happened.

Foundation first, then pages and reviews

We start with what is quick to fix and expensive to leave broken. Your Google Business Profile comes first: the right primary category, accurate hours, services described in your customers’ words, and real photos of your place and your work. Then your listings on Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp, Facebook and the directories for your trade, so your name, address and phone number match everywhere.

Next is your website. We fix what makes it slow on phones and hard for search engines to read, and we make sure each main service has its own page that says what you do, where and how to book. Structured data, a small block of code describing your business, goes on behind the scenes.

Reviews run through all of it. Instead of a one-time push, we set up a routine you can keep: a short link, a QR code, a message to send after each job, and reply templates so every review gets a response.

We work remotely with businesses anywhere in the US, and we research your area the way your customers search it. AI tools speed up the groundwork, such as grouping the searches people make and drafting page outlines, and a person checks every change before it goes live. A wrong category or a clumsy page can do more harm than good.

Local search shortcuts that backfire

A lot of local SEO is cleaning up after well-meant shortcuts. These are the ones we see most:

  • Keyword-stuffed business names. Adding words like “best plumber” to your name on Google breaks Google’s guidelines and can get the profile suspended. Your listed name should match your sign.
  • Copy-paste city pages. Dozens of pages that differ only by town name read as spam. A few honest pages about the areas you really serve are better for readers and search engines.
  • Duplicate profiles. An old location, a previous owner’s listing or an extra profile someone made years ago splits your reviews and confuses customers. We merge or remove them through Google.
  • Unanswered reviews. A complaint with no reply tells the next reader nobody is listening. A calm, specific reply shows how you handle problems.
  • Heavy, slow pages. Huge images and piles of plugins make a site crawl on a phone, which is where people search when they need something nearby.
  • Accounts in someone else’s name. If an agency owns your profile or analytics, you can lose years of history when you part ways. We set everything up in your name.

Keeping your place once you’ve earned it

Local SEO depends on a website that is fast and clear, which is why it pairs naturally with our website work. It also supports paid advertising: good service pages make better landing pages for campaigns and ads, and your search data shows which services people are actually looking for.

Search favors businesses that stay active, with new photos, fresh reviews, current hours and pages that get updated. You can do that yourself with the checklist we leave you, or have us handle it on a Growth or Partner care plan, both of which include SEO and Google Business upkeep and a monthly analytics report.

Either way, you own the profile, the listings, the site and the data. The best first step is a free audit, which shows you where you stand today and what to fix first.

Who it's for

Shops and restaurants with storefronts

You depend on people walking or driving in, and your map listing is often the first thing they see. Hours, photos, directions and reviews need to be right before anyone reaches your website.

Trades that travel to customers

Plumbers, cleaners, landscapers and other service-area businesses that work across a region rather than at one address. Your profile and pages need to say clearly which towns you cover.

Practices that book appointments

Dentists, salons, physical therapists and fitness studios, where people compare ratings and read reviews before they book. A steady stream of recent, answered reviews matters as much as the website.

Businesses that moved or renamed

Old addresses, phone numbers and names linger on directories for years and confuse both customers and search engines. We track them down and get them corrected.

What's included

Everything below is part of the work — not an upsell waiting at the end.

A baseline before we change anything

We search for your main services the way a customer in your area would and record where you appear on the map, in regular results and for your own business name. We also note what nearby competitors have in place that you don't, so the plan fits your actual market and you have something fair to compare against later.

Google Business Profile cleanup

We claim your profile in your name or help you recover it, then choose the right primary and secondary categories, write the description, and set regular and holiday hours, services, attributes and photos. Categories get the most care, because Google uses them to decide which searches you can appear in.

Consistent listings across the web

We make your business name, address and phone number match everywhere they appear: Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp, Facebook and the directories specific to your trade. Mismatched details send customers to dead numbers and make search engines less certain which version is true.

Site speed and technical fixes

We fix what makes your site hard for search engines to read and slow for people to use: broken links, missing or duplicate page titles (the headline Google shows in results), oversized images, and layouts that break on phones. We also add structured data, a small block of code that gives Google your address, hours and services in a format it reads directly.

Pages for each service and area

Each main service gets its own page that explains what you do, where and how to book. If you serve several towns, we write honest pages about the areas you really cover instead of copy-pasted city pages that read as spam.

A review routine you can keep

You get a short review link, a QR code for the counter or invoice, a message to send after each job, and reply templates so you can answer every review in a few minutes. We never buy or fake reviews, or ask only the customers we expect to be happy, because both break Google's rules and can get reviews removed or a profile suspended.

Search Console and tracking setup

We connect Google Search Console, Google's free tool that shows which searches your site appears for, and Google Analytics, which shows what visitors do once they arrive. We track calls and form submissions from your website and show you where your Google profile reports calls and direction requests, so you can see what's bringing in customers.

A practical content plan

A short, prioritized list of pages and posts worth writing over the next few months, built from the questions your customers actually search for. Each item comes with an outline that you or we can write from.

How it works

2-4 weeks of setup for most businesses, then ongoing upkeep. You'll always know what's happening this week and what's next.

  1. 01Days 1-3

    Free audit

We review your Google Business Profile, listings, reviews and website, and run the searches your customers run from your area. You get a plain-language list of what's holding you back, free and with no obligation.

  2. 02Within a week

    Plan and quote

We turn the audit into a plan ordered by impact, with a fixed-price quote, a dated schedule and a list of what we need from you, such as manager access to your Google profile. If your website itself is the main problem, we can also show you a free redesign preview of a new homepage.

  3. 03Setup weeks 1-2

    Fix the foundation

We clean up your Google Business Profile, start correcting listings, and fix the technical and speed problems on your site. Listing corrections can take weeks to show up across the web, so they start first.

  4. 04Setup weeks 2-4

    Pages and reviews

We write or improve your service and area pages, add structured data, set up your review routine and connect Search Console and tracking. Then we walk you through everything and hand over your content plan and upkeep checklist.

  5. 05Ongoing

    Upkeep

Local search favors businesses that stay current. On a Growth or Partner care plan we handle SEO and Google Business upkeep and send a monthly analytics report, or you can follow the upkeep checklist we leave you.

How pricing works

SEO setup gets one fixed price after your free audit, covering an agreed list of fixes, listings and pages. What moves that price is how many listings need correcting, how much technical work your site needs, how many service or area pages we write, and how many locations you have. A single shop with a claimed profile and a sound website sits at the simple end; several locations with years of outdated listings and a slow site take more. Ongoing upkeep is not part of the setup price; it comes with the Growth and Partner care plans, which you can pay monthly or yearly and cancel anytime.

Questions about seo & local search

Something else? Ask us directly.

Will you get me into the top three on Google Maps?

No one can honestly promise that. Google decides rankings, and they depend on things no one controls, such as how close the searcher is to you and what your competitors do. What we can do is make sure everything you do control, from your profile and listings to your reviews and website, is accurate, complete and set up the way Google's own guidelines describe.

How long before I see results?

Most setups take 2-4 weeks. Search engines then need time to revisit your site and pick up listing changes, which often takes several weeks to a few months, and crowded categories take longer. Some fixes help right away, though: correct hours and a working phone number stop you losing customers today.

I don't have a storefront. Can I still show up on Google Maps?

Yes. Google lets service-area businesses hide their street address and list the towns or areas they serve instead. You still need a real address to verify the profile, but customers won't see it.

Will you write or buy reviews for us?

No. Fake, paid or incentivized reviews break Google's rules and can lead to reviews being removed or a profile being suspended. We help you ask every customer, not just the happy ones, at the right moment and make it easy for them to leave a review.

Who owns my Google Business Profile?

You do. We ask to be added as a manager, never as the owner, so you can remove us at any time. If an old agency or former employee holds ownership, we help you request it back through Google's process.

Will I have to replace my website to rank locally?

Usually not. Most existing sites can be fixed with faster pages, clearer service pages, correct titles and structured data. If yours can't be fixed sensibly, the free audit will say so, and we can show you a free redesign preview before you decide anything.
